You won't need a visca cord for the cam if you have the remote. Also too you should pick up a pinnacle studio HD USB capture device to connect your cam up to via a S-Video cable. Use the internal mic array from your laptop and you should be ready to broadcast. Also too if you can spare the extra money pick up the evi d-100 or vc-c50i.
I use the vc-c50i with the pinnacle HD and I love it!

Yeah lex, you'll burn it up cause of the heat it will produce. PC setup in a room is best way for a "bed room" in if you will do shows in kitchen or bath etc then a laptop will be needed as well.
PC's are not as "compact" as laptop's so you don't have to worry about it burning up too much.
If ultimately you go with a laptop, keep in mind you will need to keep those fan vents clear or you will be shopping in about 6 months for a new one
If you need a suggestion on what is best email me, I run the IT tech department in my company i work for. I'll be glad to help, that goes for any model as well

If you keep proper airflow through your machine your laptop will be fine... you have to keep your vents clean on your desktop as well or your PC will lock up too.

I also recommend a PC - if you get an Osprey card, you won't be able to install it in your laptop. Quote
then i was told to try the osprey, now i am beign told THAT wont work on my laptop.
ugh. i was told to get a pinnacle hd something or other, have to read the other forums. getting this laptop setup is a pain. Quote

The problem you have is you are using a 64bit operating system, if the laptop has under 4Gb of memory install a 32bit operating system and it will work. The problem is not the dazzle or the osprey it's the sites performer application that is not compatible with 64bit windows. So you either need windows 7 32bit or vista 32bit (stay clear off) or windows xp 32bit pro or home for it to work. Also the other problem related to the performer application is as it uses Adobe flash player to work and as we know there is no 64bit version of Adobe flash player yet so this is also why the performer application does not work on 64bit operating systems, so we need to wait for Adobe to sort that out and then for VS to maybe re-write the performer application for 64bit systems and compile it in a 64bit format.

omg, everything is going CHA-CHING around here. ugh. Quote
doritha,
thank you so much. yes this is for work, however, i am not so much worried about the time on it because, i only work at most 12 hours a week.
i think that was the most ive ever worked.
I cant get on til about 9pm, then log off at about 1am, so that i can get a few hours rest before getting up at 630am. and the way the days linked up it was only about 3 days a week.
i have a desktop and that is what i used to have, but it just became so much of a hassle to move furniture everynight, and putting drops or curtains in the background, and then putting everything back sucked.
so if i have this i can be in my room.
